Oh, and his recipe for Salmon Wellington is featured in the Chicken Soup of the Soul cookbook (weeeellll…his wife had something to do with that!)

Brent Roberts purchased his first piece of real estate at the young age of 18. He has since bought and sold over 100 homes throughout his investment career. His portfolio has included single family homes, duplexes, condos and strata complexes.

In 1989 he decided, on a whim, to get his real estate license. His first year as a licensed Realtor he achieved "Rookie of The Year" with the Fraser Valley Real Estate Board and also with Realty World, whom he was originally licensed. He went on to become one of the top Realtors in the Fraser Valley and with Realty World Internationally, and now with Royal LePage. In 1994, he opened his own real estate office, Royal LePage Brent Roberts Realty, and is continuously one of the top Realtors in the industry winning many awards throughout his career.

Real estate is definitely his passion; whether it be purchasing a new investment property for himself, or helping others realize their real estate goals; whether that be buying your first investment property or your 100th.



Michael Geller

Architect AIBC, FCIP RPP

Topic: "Emerging housing trends from around the world."

Michael Geller is an architect, planner, real estate consultant and property developer with four decade's experience in the public, private, and institutional sectors. He also serves on the Adjunct Faculty of SFU's Centre for Sustainable Community Development.

His company, The Geller Group is active in real estate consulting and property development. Current activities include a variety of land use planning studies, rezonings and smaller scale infill developments, including apartments for people who don't want to live in apartments.

He recently served as a juror for an international competition to design Moscow's new International Financial Centre.

From January to September 2007, Michael completed an around-the-world journey while on Sabbatical from SFU, during which time he wrote a bi-weekly column in the Vancouver Sun.

From 1999 to 2006, he was President and CEO of the SFU Community Trust, overseeing the development of UniverCity, a sustainable community adjacent to the Simon Fraser University Burnaby Mountain campus.

Prior to joining SFU, Michael participated in the redevelopment of Steveston Village, Bayshore in Coal Harbour, Deering Island, Furry Creek and a variety of residential and mixed-use projects around Vancouver.

From 1981 to 1983, he was Vice-President Development, The Narod Group. Prior to joining Narod, he was an official with CMHC in Vancouver, Ottawa and Toronto during which time he participated in the Phase One redevelopment of the South Shore of False Creek.

Michael is a past president of the Urban Development Institute BC and UDI Canada; a former member of Vancouver's Urban Design Panel, Development Permit Board Advisory Panel and the Board of Directors of the British Columbia Buildings Corporation.

He's also a past Trustee of the Vancouver Art Gallery, Louis Brier Home and Hospital, and past President of the Jewish Community Centre.

Michael writes a weekly column in the Vancouver Courier and is a frequent contributor to The Vancouver Sun and other media.

He has been honoured as a Life Member of the Architectural Institute of BC and a Fellow of the Canadian Institute of Planners.
